The Aeolian Islands ( Lipari Islands): How to Arrive
The Aeolian Islands are situated in the province
of Messina and can be reached all the year by hydrofoil from the
ports of Milazzo, Messina and Reggio Calabria and by ferry-boat
from the ports of Milazzo and Naples. They are also linked in
summer by ferry-boat to the ports of Palermo, Naples, SantAgata
di Militello and Cefalù. Lipari is daily connected all the year
to Vulcano and Salina by Siremar and Snav hydrofoils. Its
also connected to Panarea, Stromboli, Filicudi and Alicudi twice
a day in winter and even more in summertime.
BY PLANE: The Aeolian
Islands can be reached from the airports of Naples, Reggio Calabria
and Palermo.
BY CAR: Cars coming
from North Italy can be embarked on Siremar ferry-boats in Naples;
from Sicily on Siremar and Italian Shipping Company in Milazzo.
BY TRAIN: The railway
station of Milazzo (arrival end of the main trains connecting
Messina and Palermo) is linked by buses to the port.
