AEOLIAN ISLANDS
General infos:
The archipelago of the Aeolian islands counts seven islands:
Lipari, Vulcano, Panarea, Stromboli, Salina, Filicudi and
Alicudi. Lipari is the main island and the biggest as well.
Every island has its own peculiarities, so it is really
worth a visit. Lipari offers a great choice for accomodation,
restaurants and nightlife. Panarea is quite exclusive and
elegant. Vulcano's fame is due to its natural mud Spas.
Stromboli, with its active volcano, offers evey night an
amazing eruption. Alicudi, Filicudi und Salina are the less
known by the tourism and preserve their original wilderness.
Alicudi and Filicudi are the ideal resorts to find relax
and quietness.

How to reach Aeolian
islands:
By hydrofoils and ferry-boats: all the year from Milazzo
and Naples. During Summertime, there are connections from
the ports of Palermo, Naples, Sant'Agata di Militello und
Cefalù, too.There are daily connections during all
the year between Lipari, Salina and Vulcano. For Panarea,
Stromboli, Alicudi and Filicudi, there is a ferry twice
a day in Winter and more in Summer.
By plane: You can reach the Aeolian islands from the Airports
of Naples, Catania, Reggio Calabria and Palermo.
By car: coming from the North: you can emark your car in
the ferry "Siremar".
If you come from Sicily, you can reach the island through
Milazzo. By train: you can reach Milazzo from Messina or
Palermo.
In Milazzo, there are many buses leading to the Port.
